May 9, 2016 | admin | Leave a comment Boca de Tomatlan, commonly called “Boca“, was founded in 1847. This small fishing town, surrounded by lush tropical mountains, is located 14 mi or 22 klm south of PV. It’s the perfect get away, day trip, by car or bus. Take a towel, sunscreen & camera. The very calm beach is about 100 yards or 90 mts long & is split in half by the Tomatlan River, where the fisherman anchor their boats. Swimming with pelicans is a unique experience you can’t do many places. There are several beachfront restaurants with bathrooms where you can change. You can swim in the river to freshen up prior to your return to PV. To fully enjoy this special beach town ,stay overnight at La Posada Pacifica. The buses to Boca are located in Old PV at Basilio & Constitucion Aves. They leave about every 30 minutes from 7 am to 10 pm & return to Old PV until 10 pm. The 40 minute ride, with live music often on board, costs about 10 pesos. Bus Tip. Sit on the right side to Boca & left from Boca facing forward for best views. If you’d like to go to Yelapa, the boat ride is 200 pesos round trip & takes about 40 minutes to Yelapa. John, swimming with the pelicans ! Your ocean side table is waiting for you !
