TEHUAMIXTLE,locally known as Tehua,  is pronounced like Tey wa“. It’s located about 2 hours southwest by car from PV & about 8 minutes by car or 30 minute walk on a dirt road  south of Mayto. This sleepy fishing village is famous for its oysters ,lobster & calm harbor. If you have your own snorkeling equipment, just go off the small beach to see the old anchor plus small colorful fish along the rocks. You can also hire a boat to go fishing.

WHERE TO STAY

El Cielito Cabanas, located just 8 minutes south of Tehua by car, has spectacular panoramic views.It overlooks a virgin beach of about 3 mi or5 kl to the south & the harbor of Tehua to the north. The 10 cottages ,that we call 4 star accommodations,  have thatched roofs & are surrounded by bougainvillea’s & lush  gardens. The restaurant & pool, for guests only, have great views. You’ll be in another world when you watch the sunsets. It’ a great romantic get a way. Go see for yourself! WHERE TO EAT

Candelario’s Restaurant is located to the right of the harbor. Views from your table, under a large thatched roof, overlook the harbor & an endless coastline. Its specializes in seafood & famous locally harvested oysters. Open 7 am -10 pm. Pay in pesos & $US. If you need a room for the night or info on the nearby hot springs or anything, just ask Gaby Joya, who speaks English & manages the  restaurant.
